It hardly looks like fire, and the “flame” is so short and flops about so much that I don’t even know how well it actually works as a diffuser–it feels more like it just gets the top part wet rather than sending moisture into the air… The options are very limited. I’m not sure I would feel great giving this as a gift.

When my Aegci Essential Oil Diffuser Humidifier with Flame Light Effect arrived, I was pleased to see that no assembly was required. Just make sure to pour the water into the right area and not to exceed the indicated fill line.This oil diffuser/humidifier differs from my others in that the vapor, scented with my preferred essential oil, emits not from a small round opening but instead from an opening about 1/4 inch wide and 3-1/2 inches in length at the top of the product. This results in a wider mass of vapor, which more closely resembles a smoky fire, as opposed to the narrow stream I’ve always seen.There are four different lighting effects. The first is a soft blue light indicating that it’s plugged in but not vaporizing; the second is a soft white light indicating that it is vaporizing; the third light is a soft orange; and the fourth light is a more intense orange, but it gives only a subtle color to the vapor emissions. Therefore, if you’re in a dark room, while the orange light itself is quite intense, it’s not so intense that one might mistake it for a flame. So, to call it a “flame effect” is not deceptive, but the photo supplied by the manufacture implies a bit more intensity of color than actually occurs. There are also three squiggly lines (like tiny glass windows) on the front of the diffuser which, like the opening on the top, allow the orange light to emit, and it’s a lovely effect.We are advised to use the USB cord that is provided. I loved this because it not only makes it easier to transport (not that it’s large), but when at home, I can plug it into my digital clock.I’ve owned this for only a brief time, but I love its humidifier/vaporizer aspects, as well as how “hot” and cool it looks in a darkened room. So far, this is my favorite oil diffuser, ever. And yes, my essential oils smell wonderful!

**Update**After about 2 weeks, it just stopped working. The light comes on, but there is almost no vapor unless you remove the lid. I’ve tried cleaning the area that vaporizes the water, but it didn’t improve anything.I’ve had this for about a day and it’s pretty cool. I thought that with the amount of vapor it puts off the tank would go dry quicker than others, but it doesn’t. It runs for an impressive amount of time. The light effect definitely looks better in the dark, but it’s still bright enough to be seen with room lights on. Would recommend.
